Routes mode simulates movement along a path on your iPhone. Instead of changing your location to a single point, your device’s location will move along a route over time.Documentation Index

Switching to Routes Mode
Click the Route button in the mode toggle at the top of the map to switch from Static mode to Routes mode. You cannot switch modes while a route is running or while your location is being changed.Setting Up a Route
Place start and end markers on the map by clicking the map or by using the search bar at the top to find a location. When you click a search result, it will be assigned to the currently selected pin (start or end).Choosing a Travel Mode
Use the Route Speed selector on the left panel to choose how your location moves along the route:- Walking — slowest speed
- Cycling — medium speed
- Driving — fastest speed
Adding Waypoints
To customize the path your route takes, add up to 10 waypoints using the + button in the waypoints section on the left panel. Waypoints can be renamed or removed by clicking the edit button next to the waypoints list.Previewing the Route
Click Preview Route at the bottom of the map to calculate and display the route. The route will be drawn on the map so you can verify it before starting. There is a short cooldown between previews.Starting the Route
Once you have previewed a route, click Start Route to begin simulating movement. Your iPhone’s location will move along the route in real time at the selected travel speed.Stay at End
Check the Stay at end checkbox on the left panel before starting a route to keep your location at the destination when the route finishes. If unchecked, your location will be reset when the route ends.Resetting Your Location
While a route is running, click Reset Location to stop the route and reset your iPhone’s location.After resetting your location, your iPhone may take a few minutes to recalibrate. You can reboot your iPhone to force it to recalibrate.
